BVI Companies may now list in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
On December 15th 2009 the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) announced that it will allow the listing of BVI incorporated companies.
BVI companies are now a very attractive exit option for private equity investors accessing mainland China. BVI companies, by jurisdiction, are the second largest source of foreign investment in China, with $5.8B from June 2008 to 2009.
The list of the acceptable overseas jurisdictions in the SEHK currently include: Australia, Canada (British Columbia), Canada (Ontario), Cyprus, BVI, Germany, Jersey, Luxembourg, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
